Guidelines for Authors

Given the situation of the ongoing pandemic, IMES 2022 will follow a pattern of online plenary lectures led by selected keynote speakers, i.e., no peer review process will be organized this year. The event is organized by the IMES community free of charge.

Guidelines for Authors

Authors are encouraged to submit their full papers from December 1, 2021 till January 15, 2022 via this link.

Papers must be submitted by the main author (first author listed on the title page of the paper).

Please use the enclosed paper template for writing your paper (.doc file or .docx file). See sample paper.

Please note that it is necessary to comply with these instructions:

  • The length of the article is 7 to 10 pages.
  • It is necessary to use relevant references, especially papers and texts from Web of Science databases. All submissions will be checked for potential plagiarism. Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
  • For writing formulas, please use the Equation Editor from Microsoft Word (you can use sample formula from the paper template).
  • All citations in the text and all references must follow APA style (American Psychological Association – more information http://www.apastyle.org/). We recommend to use automatic citation maker for citation and references: automatic APA citation maker.
  • Do not number pages.

Previously published papers and dual submissions are not allowed. Authors might choose between:

  1. Submitting paper to be included in conference proceedings (By submitting a paper, authors accept that paper will be published online and submitted to science databases.)
  2. Submitting paper for oral presentation without being published in conference proceedings

Each paper is subject to two independent double blind peer reviews. Papers whose content or format do not comply with the conference requirements are returned for rework or rejected. Each author is notified as to the acceptance of the paper by March, 16, 2022. All manuscripts as well as conference presentations are to be delivered for acceptance in English only!

Please use the enclosed paper template for writing your paper (.doc file or .docx file).

Presentation of Accepted Papers

If the full paper is accepted for the conference personal presentation is encouraged, but it is not obligatory. Authors will have the opportunity to present the accepted paper during one of the conference sections. The conference programme will be published before the conference. The length of the presentation and the details will be send to the authors in advance. Organizational and programme committee reserves the right to decide, whether the paper will be presented orally or displayed in the poster section.

Editorial Integrity for IMES Submissions

One of our top priorities and responsibilities is to prevent any illegal or unethical practice. Plagiarism is not tolerated in any form. Through the submission of a manuscript, the author confirms that it is their own original research. The following rules are binding for all parties who participate in the conference and are published in the IMES Proceedings.

The Conference Scientific Committee and the Organisers of the Conference

  • are responsible for the content and overall technical quality of the manuscripts,
  • reserve the right to accept or reject a submission during the review process, and, if the paper is successful in the review process, to decide on its publication,
  • treat all information relative to the papers submitted as confidential,
  • ensure the anonymity of the reviewers and authors during the review process,
  • prevent all potential conflicts of interest between the authors and reviewers.

Authors

  • are responsible to follow the instructions for authors and the formal requirements of the paper,
  • confirm that papers uploaded to the conference system have not been previously published or submitted to another review process,
  • confirm that their submissions are and represent their own original work,
  • are responsible for the proper citation of previously published material as well as the proper presentation of all data sources,
  • are responsible to identify the names of all co-authors who participated in the preparation and delivery of the submission, and confirm that all co-authors are aware that papers have been submitted for review and agree with both the content and publication of their names as co-authors,
  • are required to immediately report any serious errors and inaccuracies contained in papers,
  • are responsible to deliver all final requested corrections and modifications,
  • are obliged to report any conflicts of interest.

Reviewers

  • are obliged to treat all information relative to submitted papers as confidential,
  • are obliged to report any similarities with other peer-reviewed papers or previously published works, for which the reviewer is cognisant,
  • are responsible for an objective review of an anonymous paper and a justification for their views that include clear arguments. The reviewers should also propose additional literature and resources that were not included in the submission. They may only recommend positively reviewed papers for publication,
  • are obliged to give immediate notice if the deadline to remit the review cannot be met so that it may be delegated, if appropriate, to another reviewer,
  • are obliged to report any conflicts of interest.
